A Tale of A Fly - Story of Love & Connection

It is the Spring season again - flowers are blossoming, trees are turning green, birds are chirping... There is so much vitality and livelihood in the air... Well of course, it is also a season where insects are speeding up their activities. I understand that most people are turned off by flies, because they dig through trash and try to steal people's food. Even when they are not "threatening" or "contaminating" our food, people are still annoyed by their "notorious" buzzing sounds. As soon as people hear any signs of a fly, they will have their "weapon" ready to smash the little creatures. When they do catch or kill the fly, they are relieved with a sense of "accomplishment".

The truth is that Flies are just like us, because they are infused with the same energy that created everything in existence. They are just experiencing life in very unique perspectives that most of us could not comprehend or appreciate. As I mentioned in my blog post "Insights on Gay Marriage", our lack of compassion toward another human or animal stems from our disconnection with ourselves and with others. The Fly's buzzing wouldn't be an issue to you if your inner space is filled with stillness and peace. When we are irritated by the Fly, we are simply projecting our rejection of our own inner chatters into the Fly. The Fly essentially becomes our "Scapegoat". The moment we quiet the Fly, we felt that we are also managing to control our inner chatters, but that sense of relieve never lasts. Once you realize the life you are experiencing is simply a mirror of your inner world, you will see everything with a new perspective. Fly is only a symbol, you can project into anybody and anything.

If you do managed to quiet your mind, you will find that we could actually connect with the Fly. Here it is "A Tale of A Fly" - It was late at night, I went into the master bathroom before going to bed ((sorry I have to talk about bathroom, but it is the location the story took place in:P). As I sat down on the toilet seat, I sensed a presence with me. I put down my iPad and started tuning in to it... All the sudden, I heard the "buzzing" from a Fly - a trapped Fly or a Fly that had escaped to this "safe" location so it wouldn't be smashed by the other people in the house.

I could sense the fear and anxiety in the Fly as if it had been searching for a safe haven all day and now it finally found it. It knew I wouldn't hurt it, so the Fly just wanted to let me know it was there. I knew the Fly just wanted to be back out in Nature instead of being trapped in a house. The moment I felt that I had established a connection with the Fly, I felt really calm and blissful. It was almost like a miracle that I knew we were communicating telepathically. I "told" the Fly that I would help it to regain freedom. All the sudden, the Fly flew onto my thigh. I knew the trust had been established. I opened up my right palm, and "told" the Fly to land in my palm so I can release it outside. I could never forget that moment... the moment when the Fly literally flew onto the center of my palm and stayed there. I felt so much love and connection! I felt that we are all ONE.

I immediately stood up from the seat, and walked toward the back door. The Fly stayed in my palm the entire time! I opened up the patio door and raised my hand - I "told" the Fly "now It is safe to fly away, to be back to your family and nature". The Fly paused for a little bit as if to express its gratitude and then flew away...

It was such a magical experience... to be able to connect with a creature that most people despise, and to gain trust and express love... It is a true testimony that we are truly ONE with ALL. The moment we accept that, we will start to see and treat others differently.

Now go find the "Fly" in your life - if only just for a split second, you will be forever changed!
